1,738. Signing a Get in Weird Places
Hilchos Geirushin 4:22
Let’s say that a scribe writes two gets one above the other and the witnesses sign in between them, with the result that their signatures appear under the first get and over the second. If the document is possessed by the woman under whose get the signatures appear, divorce is effected for her. Divorce is not effected for the woman whose get is under the signatures. If the witnesses signed on the top of a get, on its side or on the back of it, it is not valid; if it was delivered in front of witnesses, it is valid.
Hilchos Geirushin 4:23
If two gets were written so that the start of each faced the start of the other and the witnesses signed where the tops of the two gets meet, both are invalid; if they are delivered in front of witnesses, they are valid.
