History is HIS Story

“History is HIS Story” is a series of lectures that discuss the history of the Jewish People over the centuries. Beyond a simple review of the events, their causes and effects, we also discuss the Jewish community at that time, thereby providing a background to better understand Jewish life over the years. As the title of the series implies, the lectures focus upon the miraculous survival of our nation under the most difficult conditions and our ability to endure centuries of hatred and attacks by the reluctant host countries of the Diaspora. As these lectures proceed into the twentieth century and we study the miraculous return of the Jews to the Land of Israel, we reach a full realization that the history of the Jew is, indeed, God’s story. For the Jew, history is not the result of random decisions, unexpected events and human activities but rather a story of God-driven actions that lead the Jewish nation to its Divinely-shaped destiny.
