669. Danger to the Eyes
92:7 We override Shabbos if a person has pain in both eyes, or if he has something in one of them, or if his eyes are watering or bleeding, or for anything else that endangers the eye.
92:8 If a dangerously ill person needs to eat meat and only non-kosher meat is available, we slaughter a kosher animal for him on Shabbos rather than feeding him non-kosher meat. This is because we are concerned that if he found out that he was fed non-kosher meat, he will be disgusted. If there is no concern that he will feel disgusted, such as in the case of a child or a person who is not thinking clearly, we feed him the non-kosher meat and do not slaughter for him on Shabbos.
