The Mishkan: Purpose, Meaning and Relevance (part 3)
Hashem cannot be contained in one building so how can we build a place for Him? The Alshich says that the goal of the Mishkan is to bring the heavenly world into our daily lives. The goal of Judaism, in general, is to bring holiness into our own lives. Why did Har Sinai lose it's holiness once God departed whereas the holiness of Har HaBayit remains? Because there was no human effort in the former but in the latter there was.
