We Bear Witness: God Promises and Fulfills

At the beginning, Hashem doesn't tell Avraham to "go up" (aliyah) to Canaan, only to "go forth". Only after he goes to Egypt is he described as "ascending from Egypt to  then it  says Avraham goes down to Egypt and back up to Israel.
