1. Heavens, listen[1] and I will speak; let the earth hear the utterances of my mouth! 2. My lesson will be sweet[2] like rain, my speech will be accepted[3] like dew – like winds of rain that blow on herbage, like drops of late rain that are on the grass. 3. When I pray in[4] the name of Hashem, ascribe greatness before our God! 4. The Mighty One[5] Whose deeds are perfect, because all His ways are justice. A faithful God, from before Whom injustice does not go forth – from before He Who is righteous and truthful.[6] 5. Destruction is theirs, not His; the children[7] who served the errors[8] – a generation that changed its deeds and was changed. 6. Behold, it is before Hashem (that) you repay this,[9] (you) people who accepted the Torah and didn’t become wise. Behold, He is your Father and you are His. He made you and established you.
[1] Rather than “give ear.”

[8] i.e., idols.
[9] Chumash: “Is this how you repay Hashem…?”
