(מ) וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהֹוָ֜ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֗ה פְּקֹ֨ד כׇּל־בְּכֹ֤ר זָכָר֙ לִבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל מִבֶּן־חֹ֖דֶשׁ וָמָ֑עְלָה וְשָׂ֕א אֵ֖ת מִסְפַּ֥ר שְׁמֹתָֽם׃ (מא) וְלָקַחְתָּ֨ אֶת־הַלְוִיִּ֥ם לִי֙ אֲנִ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה תַּ֥חַת כׇּל־בְּכֹ֖ר בִּבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְאֵת֙ בֶּהֱמַ֣ת הַלְוִיִּ֔ם תַּ֣חַת כׇּל־בְּכ֔וֹר בְּבֶהֱמַ֖ת בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ (מב) וַיִּפְקֹ֣ד מֹשֶׁ֔ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהֹוָ֖ה אֹת֑וֹ אֶֽת־כׇּל־בְּכ֖וֹר בִּבְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ (מג) וַיְהִי֩ כׇל־בְּכ֨וֹר זָכָ֜ר בְּמִסְפַּ֥ר שֵׁמֹ֛ת מִבֶּן־חֹ֥דֶשׁ וָמַ֖עְלָה לִפְקֻדֵיהֶ֑ם שְׁנַ֤יִם וְעֶשְׂרִים֙ אֶ֔לֶף שְׁלֹשָׁ֥ה וְשִׁבְעִ֖ים וּמָאתָֽיִם׃ {פ}
(מ) וַאֲמַר יְיָ לְמשֶׁה מְנֵי כָּל בּוּכְרַיָּא דִכְרַיָּא לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל מִבַּר יַרְחָא וּלְעֵלָּא וְקַבֵּל יָת מִנְיַן שְׁמָהַתְהוֹן: (מא) וּתְקָרֵב יָת לֵוָאֵי קֳדָמַי אֲנָא יְיָ חֲלַף כָּל בּוּכְרָא בִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְיָת בְּעִירָא דְלֵוָאֵי חֲלַף כָּל בּוּכְרָא בִּבְעִירָא דִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל: (מב) וּמְנָא משֶׁה כְּמָא דִי פַּקִיד יְיָ יָתֵיהּ יָת כָּל בּוּכְרָא בִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל: (מג) וַהֲווֹ כָל בּוּכְרַיָּא דִכְרַיָּא בְּמִנְיַן שְׁמָהָן מִבַּר יַרְחָא וּלְעֵלָּא לְמִנְיָנֵיהוֹן עַשְׂרִין וּתְרֵין אַלְפִין מָאתָן וְשַׁבְעִין וּתְלָתָא:
40. Hashem said to Moshe: Count all the first-born males[1] of the children of Israel from age one month and up, and take the number of their names. 41. Bring the Levites near before Me – I am Hashem – in place of every first-born in the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites in place of every first-born in the cattle of the children of Israel. 42. Moshe counted, as Hashem commanded him, all the first-born in the children of Israel. 43. All the first-born males in the number of their names, from age one month and up according to their numbers: 22,273.
(מד) וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃ (מה) קַ֣ח אֶת־הַלְוִיִּ֗ם תַּ֤חַת כׇּל־בְּכוֹר֙ בִּבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְאֶת־בֶּהֱמַ֥ת הַלְוִיִּ֖ם תַּ֣חַת בְּהֶמְתָּ֑ם וְהָיוּ־לִ֥י הַלְוִיִּ֖ם אֲנִ֥י יְהֹוָֽה׃ (מו) וְאֵת֙ פְּדוּיֵ֣י הַשְּׁלֹשָׁ֔ה וְהַשִּׁבְעִ֖ים וְהַמָּאתָ֑יִם הָעֹֽדְפִים֙ עַל־הַלְוִיִּ֔ם מִבְּכ֖וֹר בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ (מז) וְלָקַחְתָּ֗ חֲמֵ֧שֶׁת חֲמֵ֛שֶׁת שְׁקָלִ֖ים לַגֻּלְגֹּ֑לֶת בְּשֶׁ֤קֶל הַקֹּ֙דֶשׁ֙ תִּקָּ֔ח עֶשְׂרִ֥ים גֵּרָ֖ה הַשָּֽׁקֶל׃ (מח) וְנָתַתָּ֣ה הַכֶּ֔סֶף לְאַהֲרֹ֖ן וּלְבָנָ֑יו פְּדוּיֵ֕י הָעֹדְפִ֖ים בָּהֶֽם׃ (מט) וַיִּקַּ֣ח מֹשֶׁ֔ה אֵ֖ת כֶּ֣סֶף הַפִּדְי֑וֹם מֵאֵת֙ הָעֹ֣דְפִ֔ים עַ֖ל פְּדוּיֵ֥י הַלְוִיִּֽם׃ (נ) מֵאֵ֗ת בְּכ֛וֹר בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לָקַ֣ח אֶת־הַכָּ֑סֶף חֲמִשָּׁ֨ה וְשִׁשִּׁ֜ים וּשְׁלֹ֥שׁ מֵא֛וֹת וָאֶ֖לֶף בְּשֶׁ֥קֶל הַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃ (נא) וַיִּתֵּ֨ן מֹשֶׁ֜ה אֶת־כֶּ֧סֶף הַפְּדֻיִ֛ם לְאַהֲרֹ֥ן וּלְבָנָ֖יו עַל־פִּ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶת־מֹשֶֽׁה׃ {פ}
(מד) וּמַלִּיל יְיָ עִם משֶׁה לְמֵימָר: (מה) קָרֵב יָת לֵוָאֵי חֲלַף כָּל בּוּכְרָא בִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְיָת בְּעִירָא דְלֵוָאֵי חֲלַף בְּעִירְהוֹן וִיהוֹן מְשַׁמְּשִׁין קֳדָמַי לֵוָאֵי אֲנָא יְיָ: (מו) וְיָת פֻּרְקַן מָאתָן וְשַׁבְעִין וּתְלָתָא דְּיַתִּירִין עַל לֵוָאֵי מִבּוּכְרַיָּא דִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל: (מז) וְתִסַּב חָמֵשׁ חָמֵשׁ סִלְעִין לְגֻלְגַּלְתָּא בְּסִלְעֵי קוּדְשָׁא תִּסַּב עַשְׂרִין מָעִין סִלְעָא: (מח) וְתִתֵּן כַּסְפָּא לְאַהֲרֹן וְלִבְנוֹהִי פֻּרְקַן דְּיַתִּירִין בְּהוֹן: (מט) וּנְסֵיב משֶׁה יָת כְּסַף פֻּרְקַנְהוֹן מִן דְּיַתִּירִין עַל פְּרִיקֵי לֵוָאֵי: (נ) מִן בּוּכְרַיָּא דִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל נְסִיב יָת כַּסְפָּא אֲלַף וּתְלַת מְאָה וְשִׁתִּין וְחָמֵשׁ סִלְעִין בְּסִלְעֵי קוּדְשָׁא: (נא) וִיהַב משֶׁה יָת כְּסַף פְּרִיקַיָּא לְאַהֲרֹן וְלִבְנוֹהִי עַל מֵימְרָא דַיְיָ כְּמָא דִי פַקִּיד יְיָ יָת משֶׁה:
44. Hashem with to Moshe, saying: 45. Bring the Levites near in place of all the male first-born in the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites in place of their cattle, and the Levites will serve before Me; I am Hashem. 46. And as the redemption for the extra 273 over the Levites from the first-born of the children of Israel, 47. take five sela each[2] by the head, take in the holy sela – 20 maah[3] is the sela – 48. and give the money to Aharon and to his sons as redemption for the extra of them. 49. Moshe took their redemption money from the extra over[4] those redeemed by the Levites; 50. from the first-born of the children of Israel he took the money – 1,365 sela in the holy sela. 51. Moshe gave the redemption money to Aharon and to his sons at Hashem’s word, as Hashem commanded Moshe.
