(יד) וַיְדַבֵּ֤ר יְהֹוָה֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה בְּמִדְבַּ֥ר סִינַ֖י לֵאמֹֽר׃ (טו) פְּקֹד֙ אֶת־בְּנֵ֣י לֵוִ֔י לְבֵ֥ית אֲבֹתָ֖ם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֑ם כׇּל־זָכָ֛ר מִבֶּן־חֹ֥דֶשׁ וָמַ֖עְלָה תִּפְקְדֵֽם׃ (טז) וַיִּפְקֹ֥ד אֹתָ֛ם מֹשֶׁ֖ה עַל־פִּ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר צֻוָּֽה׃ (יז) וַיִּֽהְיוּ־אֵ֥לֶּה בְנֵֽי־לֵוִ֖י בִּשְׁמֹתָ֑ם גֵּרְשׁ֕וֹן וּקְהָ֖ת וּמְרָרִֽי׃ (יח) וְאֵ֛לֶּה שְׁמ֥וֹת בְּֽנֵי־גֵרְשׁ֖וֹן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֑ם לִבְנִ֖י וְשִׁמְעִֽי׃ (יט) וּבְנֵ֥י קְהָ֖ת לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֑ם עַמְרָ֣ם וְיִצְהָ֔ר חֶבְר֖וֹן וְעֻזִּיאֵֽל׃ (כ) וּבְנֵ֧י מְרָרִ֛י לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֖ם מַחְלִ֣י וּמוּשִׁ֑י אֵ֥לֶּה הֵ֛ם מִשְׁפְּחֹ֥ת הַלֵּוִ֖י לְבֵ֥ית אֲבֹתָֽם׃ (כא) לְגֵ֣רְשׁ֔וֹן מִשְׁפַּ֙חַת֙ הַלִּבְנִ֔י וּמִשְׁפַּ֖חַת הַשִּׁמְעִ֑י אֵ֣לֶּה הֵ֔ם מִשְׁפְּחֹ֖ת הַגֵּרְשֻׁנִּֽי׃ (כב) פְּקֻדֵיהֶם֙ בְּמִסְפַּ֣ר כׇּל־זָכָ֔ר מִבֶּן־חֹ֖דֶשׁ וָמָ֑עְלָה פְּקֻ֣דֵיהֶ֔ם שִׁבְעַ֥ת אֲלָפִ֖ים וַחֲמֵ֥שׁ מֵאֽוֹת׃ (כג) מִשְׁפְּחֹ֖ת הַגֵּרְשֻׁנִּ֑י אַחֲרֵ֧י הַמִּשְׁכָּ֛ן יַחֲנ֖וּ יָֽמָּה׃ (כד) וּנְשִׂ֥יא בֵֽית־אָ֖ב לַגֵּרְשֻׁנִּ֑י אֶלְיָסָ֖ף בֶּן־לָאֵֽל׃ (כה) וּמִשְׁמֶ֤רֶת בְּנֵֽי־גֵרְשׁוֹן֙ בְּאֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֔ד הַמִּשְׁכָּ֖ן וְהָאֹ֑הֶל מִכְסֵ֕הוּ וּמָסַ֕ךְ פֶּ֖תַח אֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵֽד׃ (כו) וְקַלְעֵ֣י הֶֽחָצֵ֗ר וְאֶת־מָסַךְ֙ פֶּ֣תַח הֶֽחָצֵ֔ר אֲשֶׁ֧ר עַל־הַמִּשְׁכָּ֛ן וְעַל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ סָבִ֑יב וְאֵת֙ מֵֽיתָרָ֔יו לְכֹ֖ל עֲבֹדָתֽוֹ׃ {ס}
(יד) וּמַלִּיל יְיָ עִם משֶׁה בְּמַדְבְּרָא דְסִינַי לְמֵימָר: (טו) מְנֵי יָת בְּנֵי לֵוִי לְבֵית אֲבָהַתְהוֹן לְזַרְעֲיַתְהוֹן כָּל דְּכוּרָא מִבַּר יַרְחָא וּלְעֵלָּא תִּמְנִנּוּן: (טז) וּמְנָא יָתְהוֹן משֶׁה עַל מֵימְרָא דַיְיָ כְּמָא דְּאִתְפַּקָּד: (יז) וַהֲווֹ אִלֵּין בְּנֵי לֵוִי בִּשְׁמָהַתְהוֹן גֵּרְשׁוֹן וּקְהָת וּמְרָרִי: (יח) וְאִלֵּין שְׁמָהַת בְּנֵי גֵרְשׁוֹן לְזַרְעֲיַתְהוֹן לִבְנִי וְשִׁמְעִי: (יט) וּבְנֵי קְהָת לְזַרְעֲיַתְהוֹן עַמְרָם וְיִצְהָר חֶבְרוֹן וְעֻזִּיאֵל: (כ) וּבְנֵי מְרָרִי לְזַרְעֲיַתְהוֹן מַחְלִי וּמוּשִׁי אִלֵּין אִנּוּן זַרְעֲיַת לֵוָאֵי לְבֵית אֲבָהַתְהוֹן: (כא) לְגֵרְשׁוֹן זַרְעִית לִבְנִי וְזַרְעִית שִׁמְעִי אִלֵּין אִנּוּן זַרְעֲיַת גֵּרְשׁוֹן: (כב) מִנְיָנֵיהוֹן בְּמִנְיַן כָּל דְּכוּרָא מִבַּר יַרְחָא וּלְעֵלָּא מִנְיָנֵיהוֹן שַׁבְעָא אַלְפִין וַחֲמֵשׁ מְאָה: (כג) זַרְעֲיַת גֵּרְשׁוֹן אֲחוֹרֵי מַשְׁכְּנָא יִשְׁרוּן מַעַרְבָא: (כד) וְרַב בֵּית אַבָּא לְבֵית גֵּרְשׁוֹן אֶלְיָסָף בַּר לָאֵל: (כה) וּמַטְּרַת בְּנֵי גֵרְשׁוֹן בְּמַשְׁכַּן זִמְנָא מַשְׁכְּנָא וּפְרָסָא חוֹפָאֵיהּ וּפְרָסָא דִּתְרַע מַשְׁכַּן זִמְנָא: (כו) וּסְרָדֵי דְדַרְתָּא וְיָת פְּרָסָא דִּתְרַע דַּרְתָּא דִּי עַל מַשְׁכְּנָא וְעַל מַדְבְּחָא סְחוֹר סְחוֹר וְיָת אַטּוּנוֹהִי לְכֹל פּוּלְחָנֵיהּ:
14. Hashem spoke with Moshe in the Sinai wilderness, saying: 15. Count the children of Levi by their fathers’ house(s) according to their families – every male from the age of one month and up, count them. 16. Moshe counted them by Hashem’s word,[1] as he was commanded. 17. These were the sons of Levi by their name: Gershon, and Kehas and Merari. 18. These are the names of the sons of Gershon according to their families: Livni and Shimi. 19. And the sons of Kehas according to their families: Amram and Yitzhar, Chevron and Uziel. 20. And the sons of Merari according to their families: Machli and Mushi. These are they, the Levite families by their fathers’ house(s): 21. To Gershon: the family of Livni and the family of Shimi; these are they, the families of Gershon.[2] 22. Their counted in the number of all males from age one month and up, their counted: 7,500. 23. The families of Gershon camped behind the Tabernacle, to the west. 24. The leader of the father’s house for the house of Gershon was Elyasaf son of La’el. 25 The charge of the sons of Gershon in the Tent of Meeting: the Tabernacle, and the tent, its covering, and the screen for the entrance of the Tent of Meeting; 26. the hangings of the courtyard, the screen for the entrance of the courtyard that is on the Tabernacle and on the altar all around, and the cords, for all its service.
(כז) וְלִקְהָ֗ת מִשְׁפַּ֤חַת הַֽעַמְרָמִי֙ וּמִשְׁפַּ֣חַת הַיִּצְהָרִ֔י וּמִשְׁפַּ֙חַת֙ הַֽחֶבְרֹנִ֔י וּמִשְׁפַּ֖חַת הָעׇזִּֽיאֵלִ֑י אֵ֥לֶּה הֵ֖ם מִשְׁפְּחֹ֥ת הַקְּהָתִֽי׃ (כח) בְּמִסְפַּר֙ כׇּל־זָכָ֔ר מִבֶּן־חֹ֖דֶשׁ וָמָ֑עְלָה שְׁמֹנַ֤ת אֲלָפִים֙ וְשֵׁ֣שׁ מֵא֔וֹת שֹׁמְרֵ֖י מִשְׁמֶ֥רֶת הַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃ (כט) מִשְׁפְּחֹ֥ת בְּנֵי־קְהָ֖ת יַחֲנ֑וּ עַ֛ל יֶ֥רֶךְ הַמִּשְׁכָּ֖ן תֵּימָֽנָה׃ (ל) וּנְשִׂ֥יא בֵֽית־אָ֖ב לְמִשְׁפְּחֹ֣ת הַקְּהָתִ֑י אֱלִיצָפָ֖ן בֶּן־עֻזִּיאֵֽל׃ (לא) וּמִשְׁמַרְתָּ֗ם הָאָרֹ֤ן וְהַשֻּׁלְחָן֙ וְהַמְּנֹרָ֣ה וְהַֽמִּזְבְּחֹ֔ת וּכְלֵ֣י הַקֹּ֔דֶשׁ אֲשֶׁ֥ר יְשָׁרְת֖וּ בָּהֶ֑ם וְהַ֨מָּסָ֔ךְ וְכֹ֖ל עֲבֹדָתֽוֹ׃ (לב) וּנְשִׂיא֙ נְשִׂיאֵ֣י הַלֵּוִ֔י אֶלְעָזָ֖ר בֶּן־אַהֲרֹ֣ן הַכֹּהֵ֑ן פְּקֻדַּ֕ת שֹׁמְרֵ֖י מִשְׁמֶ֥רֶת הַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃ (לג) לִמְרָרִ֕י מִשְׁפַּ֙חַת֙ הַמַּחְלִ֔י וּמִשְׁפַּ֖חַת הַמּוּשִׁ֑י אֵ֥לֶּה הֵ֖ם מִשְׁפְּחֹ֥ת מְרָרִֽי׃ (לד) וּפְקֻדֵיהֶם֙ בְּמִסְפַּ֣ר כׇּל־זָכָ֔ר מִבֶּן־חֹ֖דֶשׁ וָמָ֑עְלָה שֵׁ֥שֶׁת אֲלָפִ֖ים וּמָאתָֽיִם׃ (לה) וּנְשִׂ֤יא בֵֽית־אָב֙ לְמִשְׁפְּחֹ֣ת מְרָרִ֔י צוּרִיאֵ֖ל בֶּן־אֲבִיחָ֑יִל עַ֣ל יֶ֧רֶךְ הַמִּשְׁכָּ֛ן יַחֲנ֖וּ צָפֹֽנָה׃ (לו) וּפְקֻדַּ֣ת מִשְׁמֶ֘רֶת֮ בְּנֵ֣י מְרָרִי֒ קַרְשֵׁי֙ הַמִּשְׁכָּ֔ן וּבְרִיחָ֖יו וְעַמֻּדָ֣יו וַאֲדָנָ֑יו וְכׇ֨ל־כֵּלָ֔יו וְכֹ֖ל עֲבֹדָתֽוֹ׃ (לז) וְעַמֻּדֵ֧י הֶחָצֵ֛ר סָבִ֖יב וְאַדְנֵיהֶ֑ם וִיתֵדֹתָ֖ם וּמֵֽיתְרֵיהֶֽם׃ (לח) וְהַחֹנִ֣ים לִפְנֵ֣י הַמִּשְׁכָּ֡ן קֵ֣דְמָה לִפְנֵי֩ אֹֽהֶל־מוֹעֵ֨ד ׀ מִזְרָ֜חָה מֹשֶׁ֣ה ׀ וְאַהֲרֹ֣ן וּבָנָ֗יו שֹֽׁמְרִים֙ מִשְׁמֶ֣רֶת הַמִּקְדָּ֔שׁ לְמִשְׁמֶ֖רֶת בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְהַזָּ֥ר הַקָּרֵ֖ב יוּמָֽת׃ (לט) כׇּל־פְּקוּדֵ֨י הַלְוִיִּ֜ם אֲשֶׁר֩ פָּקַ֨ד מֹשֶׁ֧ה וְׄאַׄהֲׄרֹ֛ׄןׄ עַל־פִּ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֑ם כׇּל־זָכָר֙ מִבֶּן־חֹ֣דֶשׁ וָמַ֔עְלָה שְׁנַ֥יִם וְעֶשְׂרִ֖ים אָֽלֶף׃ {ס}
(כז) וְלִקְהָת זַרְעִית עַמְרָם וְזַרְעִית יִצְהָר וְזַרְעִית חֶבְרוֹן וְזַרְעִית עֻזִּיאֵל אִלֵּין אִנּוּן זַרְעֲיַת קְהָת: (כח) בְּמִנְיַן כָּל דְּכוּרָא מִבַּר יַרְחָא וּלְעֵלָּא תְּמַנְיָא אַלְפִין וְשִׁית מְאָה נָטְרֵי מַטַּרְתָּא דְקוּדְשָׁא: (כט) זַרְעֲיַת בְּנֵי קְהָת יִשְׁרוּן עַל צִדָּא דְמַשְׁכְּנָא דָּרוֹמָא: (ל) וְרַב בֵּית אַבָּא לְזַרְעֲיַת קְהָת אֱלִיצָפָן בַּר עֻזִּיאֵל: (לא) וּמַטַּרְתְּהוֹן אֲרוֹנָא וּפָתוֹרָא וּמְנַרְתָּא וּמַדְבְּחָא וּמָנֵי קוּדְשָׁא דִּי יְשַׁמְּשׁוּן בְּהוֹן וּפְרָסָא וְכֹל פָּלְחָנֵיהּ: (לב) וַאֲמַרְכְּלָא דִּמְמַנָּא עַל רַבְרְבֵי לֵוָאֵי אֶלְעָזָר בַּר אַהֲרֹן כַּהֲנָא דְּמִתְּחוֹת יְדוֹהִי מְמַנָּן נָטְרֵי מַטְּרַת קוּדְשָׁא: (לג) לִמְרָרִי זַרְעִית מַחְלִי וְזַרְעִית מוּשִׁי אִלֵּין אִנּוּן זַרְעֲיַת מְרָרִי: (לד) וּמִנְיָנֵיהוֹן בְּמִנְיַן כָּל דְּכוּרָא מִבַּר יַרְחָא וּלְעֵלָּא שִׁתָּא אַלְפִין וּמָאתָן: (לה) וְרַב בֵּית אַבָּא לְזַרְעֲיַת מְרָרִי צוּרִיאֵל בַּר אֲבִיחָיִל עַל צִדָּא דְמַשְׁכְּנָא יִשְׁרוּן צִפּוּנָא: (לו) וְדִי מְסִיר לְמַטְּרַת בְּנֵי מְרָרִי דַּפֵּי מַשְׁכְּנָא וְעַבְרוֹהִי וְעַמּוּדוֹהִי וְסַמְכוֹהִי וְכָל מָנוֹהִי וְכֹל פּוּלְחָנֵיהּ: (לז) וְעַמּוּדֵי דְדַרְתָּא סְחוֹר סְחוֹר וְסַמְכֵיהוֹן וְסִכֵּיהוֹן וְאַטּוּנֵיהוֹן: (לח) וְדִי שְׁרַן קֳדָם מַשְׁכְּנָא קִדּוּמָא קֳדָם מַשְׁכַּן זִמְנָא מַדִּינְחָא משֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן וּבְנוֹהִי נָטְרִין מַטְּרַת מַקְדְּשָׁא לְמַטְּרַת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְחִלּוֹנַי דְּיִקְרַב יִתְקְטָל: (לט) כָּל מִנְיָנֵי לֵוָאֵי דִּי מְנָא משֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן עַל מֵימְרָא דַיְיָ לְזַרְעֲיַתְהוֹן כָּל דְּכוּרָא מִבַּר יַרְחָא וּלְעֵלָּא עַשְׂרִין וּתְרֵין אַלְפִין:
27. And to Kehas: the family of Amram, the family of Yitzhar, the family of Chevron and the family of Uziel; these are they, the families of Kehas.[3] 28. In the number of every male from age one month and up: 8,600, keeping the charge of the sanctuary. 29. The families of the sons of Kehas camped on the side of the Tabernacle to the south. 30. And the leader of the father’s house to the families of Kehas was Elitzafan son of Uziel. 31. Their charge: the ark, the table, the Menorah, the altars, and the holy utensils with which they would minister, and the screen, and all their[4] service. 32. The superintendent[5] who was appointed over the chiefs of the Levites was Elazar son of Aharon the priest, under whose hand those who keep the charge of the sanctuary were appointed. 33. To Merari: the family of Machli and the family of Mushi.[6] These are they, the families of Merari. 34. And their counted in the number of all males from age one month and up: 6,200. 35. And the leader of the father’s house to the families of Merari was Tzuriel son of Avichayil. They camped on the side of the Tabernacle, to the north. 36. The assigned charge of the sons of Merari: the boards of the Tabernacle, and its bars, and its pillars, and its sockets, and all its utensils, and all its service, 37. and the pillars of the courtyard, and their sockets, and their pegs and their cords. 38. And the ones who camp before the Tabernacle, in front, before the Tent of Meeting, to the east: Moshe, and Aharon and his sons, the ones who keep the charge of the sanctuary, as a charge of the children of Israel; and a secular person who draws near will be executed. 39. All the counted of the Levites that Moshe and Aharon counted at God’s word by their families, all males from age one month and up: 22,000.
