(ט) אֵ֚לֶּה תּוֹלְדֹ֣ת נֹ֔חַ נֹ֗חַ אִ֥ישׁ צַדִּ֛יק תָּמִ֥ים הָיָ֖ה בְּדֹֽרֹתָ֑יו אֶת־הָֽאֱלֹהִ֖ים הִֽתְהַלֶּךְ־נֹֽחַ׃ (י) וַיּ֥וֹלֶד נֹ֖חַ שְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה בָנִ֑ים אֶת־שֵׁ֖ם אֶת־חָ֥ם וְאֶת־יָֽפֶת׃ (יא) וַתִּשָּׁחֵ֥ת הָאָ֖רֶץ לִפְנֵ֣י הָֽאֱלֹהִ֑ים וַתִּמָּלֵ֥א הָאָ֖רֶץ חָמָֽס׃ (יב) וַיַּ֧רְא אֱלֹהִ֛ים אֶת־הָאָ֖רֶץ וְהִנֵּ֣ה נִשְׁחָ֑תָה כִּֽי־הִשְׁחִ֧ית כׇּל־בָּשָׂ֛ר אֶת־דַּרְכּ֖וֹ עַל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ {ס}

(ט) אִלֵּין תּוּלְדַת נֹחַ נֹחַ גְּבַר זַכַּאי שְׁלִים הֲוָה בְּדָרוֹהִי בְּדַחַלְתָּא דַיְיָ הַלִּיךְ נֹחַ: (י) וְאוֹלִיד נֹחַ תְּלָתָא בְנִין יָת שֵׁם יָת חָם וְיָת יָפֶת: (יא) וְאִתְחַבָּלַת אַרְעָא קֳדָם יְיָ וְאִתְמְלִיאַת אַרְעָא חֲטוֹפִין: (יב) וַחֲזָא יְיָ יָת אַרְעָא וְהָא אִתְחַבָּלַת אֲרֵי חַבִּילוּ כָּל בִּשְׂרָא אֱנַשׁ יָת אָרְחֵהּ עַל אַרְעָא:

9. These are the chronicles of Noach. Noah was a righteous man; he was blameless in his generations. Noach walked with reverence of Hashem.[1] 10. Noach fathered three sons: Sheim, Cham and Yafes.11. The Earth became corrupted before Hashem and the earth was filled with lawlessness. 12. Hashem saw the Earth how it had been corrupted because all human flesh had corrupted its way on Earth.[2]

(יג) וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֜ים לְנֹ֗חַ קֵ֤ץ כׇּל־בָּשָׂר֙ בָּ֣א לְפָנַ֔י כִּֽי־מָלְאָ֥ה הָאָ֛רֶץ חָמָ֖ס מִפְּנֵיהֶ֑ם וְהִנְנִ֥י מַשְׁחִיתָ֖ם אֶת־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ (יד) עֲשֵׂ֤ה לְךָ֙ תֵּבַ֣ת עֲצֵי־גֹ֔פֶר קִנִּ֖ים תַּֽעֲשֶׂ֣ה אֶת־הַתֵּבָ֑ה וְכָֽפַרְתָּ֥ אֹתָ֛הּ מִבַּ֥יִת וּמִח֖וּץ בַּכֹּֽפֶר׃ (טו) וְזֶ֕ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר תַּֽעֲשֶׂ֖ה אֹתָ֑הּ שְׁלֹ֧שׁ מֵא֣וֹת אַמָּ֗ה אֹ֚רֶךְ הַתֵּבָ֔ה חֲמִשִּׁ֤ים אַמָּה֙ רׇחְבָּ֔הּ וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים אַמָּ֖ה קוֹמָתָֽהּ׃ (טז) צֹ֣הַר ׀ תַּֽעֲשֶׂ֣ה לַתֵּבָ֗ה וְאֶל־אַמָּה֙ תְּכַלֶּ֣נָּה מִלְמַ֔עְלָה וּפֶ֥תַח הַתֵּבָ֖ה בְּצִדָּ֣הּ תָּשִׂ֑ים תַּחְתִּיִּ֛ם שְׁנִיִּ֥ם וּשְׁלִשִׁ֖ים תַּֽעֲשֶֽׂהָ׃ (יז) וַאֲנִ֗י הִנְנִי֩ מֵבִ֨יא אֶת־הַמַּבּ֥וּל מַ֙יִם֙ עַל־הָאָ֔רֶץ לְשַׁחֵ֣ת כׇּל־בָּשָׂ֗ר אֲשֶׁר־בּוֹ֙ ר֣וּחַ חַיִּ֔ים מִתַּ֖חַת הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם כֹּ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־בָּאָ֖רֶץ יִגְוָֽע׃ (יח) וַהֲקִמֹתִ֥י אֶת־בְּרִיתִ֖י אִתָּ֑ךְ וּבָאתָ֙ אֶל־הַתֵּבָ֔ה אַתָּ֕ה וּבָנֶ֛יךָ וְאִשְׁתְּךָ֥ וּנְשֵֽׁי־בָנֶ֖יךָ אִתָּֽךְ׃ (יט) וּמִכׇּל־הָ֠חַ֠י מִֽכׇּל־בָּשָׂ֞ר שְׁנַ֧יִם מִכֹּ֛ל תָּבִ֥יא אֶל־הַתֵּבָ֖ה לְהַחֲיֹ֣ת אִתָּ֑ךְ זָכָ֥ר וּנְקֵבָ֖ה יִֽהְיֽוּ׃ (כ) מֵהָע֣וֹף לְמִינֵ֗הוּ וּמִן־הַבְּהֵמָה֙ לְמִינָ֔הּ מִכֹּ֛ל רֶ֥מֶשׂ הָֽאֲדָמָ֖ה לְמִינֵ֑הוּ שְׁנַ֧יִם מִכֹּ֛ל יָבֹ֥אוּ אֵלֶ֖יךָ לְהַֽחֲיֽוֹת׃ (כא) וְאַתָּ֣ה קַח־לְךָ֗ מִכׇּל־מַֽאֲכָל֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יֵֽאָכֵ֔ל וְאָסַפְתָּ֖ אֵלֶ֑יךָ וְהָיָ֥ה לְךָ֛ וְלָהֶ֖ם לְאׇכְלָֽה׃ (כב) וַיַּ֖עַשׂ נֹ֑חַ כְּ֠כֹ֠ל אֲשֶׁ֨ר צִוָּ֥ה אֹת֛וֹ אֱלֹהִ֖ים כֵּ֥ן עָשָֽׂה׃

(יג) וַאֲמַר יְיָ לְנֹחַ קִצָּא דְכָל בִּשְׂרָא עַלַּת לִקֳדָמַי אֲרֵי אִתְמְלִיאַת אַרְעָא חֲטוֹפִין מִן קֳדָם עוֹבָדֵיהוֹן בִּישַׁיָּא וְהָא אֲנָא מְחַבֶּלְהוֹן עִם אַרְעָא: (יד) עִיבֵד לָךְ תֵּבוֹתָא דְאָעִין דְּקַדְרוֹם מְדוֹרִין תַּעְבֵּד יָת תֵּבוֹתָא וְתֶחְפֵּי יָתַהּ מִגָּו וּמִבָּרָא בְּכָפְרָא: (טו) וְדֵין דִתַעֲבֵּד יָתַהּ תְּלָת מְאָה אַמִּין אוּרְכָּא דְתֵבוֹתָא חַמְשִׁין אַמִּין פְּתָיַהּ וּתְלָתִין אַמִּין רוּמַהּ: (טז) נֵהוֹר תַּעְבֵּיד לְתֵבוֹתָא וּלְאַמְתָא תְּשַׁכְלְלִנַּהּ מִלְּעֵלָּא וְתַרְעָא דְתֵבוֹתָא בְּסִטְרַהּ תְּשַׁוִּי מְדוֹרִין אַרָעִין תִּנְיָנִין וּתְלִיתָאִין תַּעְבְּדִנַּהּ: (יז) וַאֲנָא הָא אֲנָא מַיְתֵי יָת טוֹפָנָא מַיָּא עַל אַרְעָא לְחַבָּלָא כָּל בִּשְׂרָא דִּי בֵיהּ רוּחָא דְחַיֵּי מִתְּחוֹת שְׁמַיָּא כֹּל דִּי בְאַרְעָא יְמוּת: (יח) וְאָקֵם יָת קְיָמִי עִמָּךְ וְתֵעוֹל לְתֵבוֹתָא אַתְּ וּבְנָךְ וְאִתְּתָךְ וּנְשֵׁי בְנָךְ עִמָּךְ: (יט) וּמִכָּל דְּחַי מִכָּל בִּשְׂרָא תְּרֵין מִכֹּלָא תָּעֵיל לְתֵבוֹתָא לְקַיָּמָא עִמָּךְ דְּכַר וְנָקְבָּא יְהוֹן: (כ) מֵעוֹפָא לִזְנוֹהִי וּמִן בְּעִירָא לִזְנַהּ וּמִכֹּל רִחֲשָׁא דְאַרְעָא לִזְנוֹהִי תְּרֵין מִכֹּלָּא יַעֲלוּן לְוָתָךְ לְקַיָּמָא: (כא) וְאַתְּ סַב לָךְ מִכָּל מֵיכַל דִּמִתְאֲכֵל וְתִכְנוֹשׁ לְוָתָךְ וִיהֵי לָךְ וּלְהוֹן לְמֵיכָל: (כב) וַעֲבַד נֹח כְּכֹל דִּי פַקֵּיד יָתֵיהּ יְיָ כֵּן עֲבָד:

13. Hashem said to Noach, “The end of all flesh has come before me because the earth is filled with robbers[3] because of their evil deeds. Behold, I will destroy them with the earth. 14. Make yourself an ark of cedar wood.[4] Make the ark of living compartments and coat it inside and out with pitch. 15. This is how you shall make it: 300 cubits – length of the ark, 50 cubits – its width, and 30 cubits - its height. 16. Make a light for the ark and end it within a cubit of the top.[5] Put the entrance to the ark on its side. Make it with ground-level, second and third living compartments. 17. “As for Me, behold I am bringing the flood—water on the earth—to destroy all flesh that has in it the breath of life from beneath the Heavens. Everything on Earth will die.[6] 18. I will establish My covenant with you, and you will come into the ark – you, your sons, your wife and your sons’ wives. 19. From all that lives, of all flesh, two of each you shall take into the ark to keep alive with you; they must be male and female. 20. From the birds according to their species, from the domesticated animals according to their species, from everything that creeps on the ground according to their species – two of each will come in to you to be kept alive. 21. As for you, take for yourself of all food that is eaten and store it. It will be food for you and for them.” 22. Noach did exactly as Hashem had commanded him, so he did.
