Avos 4:10-11
Avos 4:10
Rabbi Meir said that one should reduce his business activities in order to spend more time involved with Torah, and that one should be humble before every person. If we neglect the Torah, we will have no limit of things to distract us but if we strive in Torah, God has great rewards for us.
Avos 4:11
Rabbi Eliezer ben Yaakov said that a person who performs a mitzvah acquires an advocate, while one who commits a sin acquires a prosecutor. Repentance and good deeds protect us from punishment. Rabbi Yochanan HaSandlar said that any gathering that is for the sake of Heaven will ultimately endure, while one that is not for the sake of Heaven will not ultimately endure.
