1,510. Consecrated to an Unknown Man

Hilchos Ishus 9:11

Let’s say that a man says that he has consecrated his daughter but he doesn’t know to whom. In such a case, she is never allowed to marry until her father can recall and identify to whom he consecrated her; that person must give her a get to enable her to marry anyone else. Her father’s word is valid in this matter even if he only recalls after she reaches the age of majority.

Hilchos Ishus 9:12

If a father says that he doesn’t know to whom he consecrated his daughter and a man identifies himself as the one who consecrated her, he is believed even to the extent that he may consummate the marriage without consecrating her again.
