Avraham: Three Confrontations with G-d

  1. Hashem visits Avraham while the latter is sitting at the entrance to his tent (the Torah doesn't tell us the content of the revelation)
  2. Avraham approaches G-d to demand justice for Sodom and the way the Torah introduces the encounter ("Can I hide from Avraham what I am going to do"?) - the birth of prophecy (Avraham is being told something that doesn't directly affect only him but others)
  3. The Akeida: In the verses, Avraham is passive and doesn't argue, the opposite of the second encounter (the Midrash fills in the blanks). Why doesn't he argue?
