1,123. Not Making Special Loaves on Pesach
Chometz u’Matzah 5:15
On Passover, we may not make thick, decorated loaves because a woman takes her time with them, allowing the dough to leaven. Professional bakers are permitted to make such loaves because their professional training enables them to make such things much more quickly. A private individual is not permitted to make such designs, not even by using a mold. This is out of concern that others will try to make such loaves without using a mold, will take their time with it, and cause the dough to leaven.
Chometz u’Matzah 5:16
The water used to wash one’s hands after kneading, as well as the water used to wash the kneading trough and the water used in the kneading process, must all be poured out somewhere that slopes downward to keep it from collecting in one place and leavening.
