496. HaMotzi Exempts Other Foods
Brachos 4:6
When one recites HaMotzi for bread, it also includes the subordinate foods eaten together with it, such as cooked dishes or fruit. Conversely, reciting a bracha on these foods does not include the bread. Reciting mezonos on cooked grains also includes subordinate cooked food; reciting the bracha on cooked food does not include cooked grains.
Brachos 4:7
If a person decides to stop eating or drinking and then changes his mind and he wants to eat or drink more, he must recite another bracha even though he has not changed location. If he did not decide to stop eating or drinking, rather his intention was to continue, then even if he made an interruption that lasted the entire day, he need not recite another bracha.
