Yadayim 1:5-2:1

Yadayim 1:5

Water in which a baker dips his loaves is invalid but if he wet his hands in the water, it remains valid. Everyone is fit to pour the water for ritual handwashing, including a person with congenital deafness, a person lacking mental faculties and a minor. One may place the jug between his knees and pour out the water or he may tilt the jug on its side and pour. A monkey may pour water over one’s hands, though Rabbi Yosi rules these last two methods invalid.

Yadayim 2:1

If a person poured water over one of his hands with a single pouring, his hand is purified. If he poured over both his hands with a single pouring, Rabbi Meir rules them unclean unless he pours a revi’is of water (about 3 oz.) over them. If a loaf of trumah fell into the water one used to wash, the loaf remains clean, though Rabbi Yosi rules it ritually unclean.
