Mikvaos 2:5-6
Mikvaos 2:5
Let’s say that there are three indentations in a mikvah (each higher than the next), each of which contains a log of drawn water. If it’s known that 40 seah of fit water fell into the mikvah before reaching the highest indentation, the mikvah is valid; if such is not the case, it’s invalid. Rabbi Shimon rules it valid because it’s comparable to one mikvah adjoining another.
Mikvaos 2:6
If one moved mud from the bottom of a mikvah to the sides and then three log of water drain from the mud, the mikvah is valid. If one removed the mud and three log of water drained from it (into the mikvah) it is rendered invalid. Rabbi Shimon rules it valid because he didn’t intend to draw this water from the mikvah.
