Bitachon Part 1

We are delighted to announce the start of a new series of Weekly Tefilah Focus segments. Rabbi Rubin will continue to present his Shemoneh Esrei segments as well, after an extended break. We will announce when he will resume, BE”H.

The purpose of this new series is to assist in identifying and enabling us to grab the many great opportunities Hashem has gifted to us during the time we invest in our tefilos.

We will present segments based on the most essential principles and aspects of connecting with Hashem and serving Him. Each principle will contain many segments presenting the pesukim and parts of our daily Tefilah where we can focus more to internalize and inculcate that principle. Examples of principles that will be covered are: Bitachon (trusting and relying on Hashem), thanking Hashem, loving Hashem, “Shivisi” (feeling Hashem’s Presence), and more.

We will begin with Bitachon, trusting and relying on Hashem. The Chovos Halevovos writes that Bitachon is what is most needed for a person to be a servant of Hashem. The benefits of Bitachon are numerous and astounding, both in this world and the next. In this world, Bitachon leads to peace of mind, serenity, happiness, better mental, physical, and emotional health, peaceful relationships, dveikus, love of Hashem, and so much more. These are on everyone’s list of most desired wishes in life.

In the next world, the reward for Bitachon is unfathomable. It leads to the greatest connection to Hashem and is the primary purpose of the giving of the Torah (Vilna Gaon, Mishlei 22:19).

Bitachon is a lifetime of work and growth. One of the primary methods of working on Bitachon is constantly repeating and contemplating pesukim and other phrases which speak about Bitachon. There are many pesukim in Tehilim and the rest of Tanach as well, but for now, we will be focusing exclusively on those pesukim and phrases that are part of our tefilos, which we are already repeating daily. If we learn to focus on and grab these opportunities with the mindset of making them a part of us, we will, BE”H, experience significant growth in our Bitachon and connection to Hashem.

May we merit success in our journey to dveikus, happiness, peace of mind, and improved physical, emotional, and mental health.
