3,141. Splitting One's Crop

Hilchos Matnos Aniyim 3:13

Let’s say that someone planted his field with crops like onions, beans or peas. If he planned to sell some of the fresh produce in the market and leave some to dry out for storage, then he must leave peah separately for each group. This is because produce sold in the market and produce put into storage count as two different types.

Hilchos Matnos Aniyim 3:14

If someone plants his field with a single species, he leaves one peah even if he gathers his crops into two piles. If he plants two species, he leaves peah for each species individually, even if he gathers them into a single pile.
