2,911. A Nazir With Tzaraas
Hilchos Nezirus 7:8
If a nazir touches a tent containing a corpse or utensils that are touching a corpse, he doesn’t have the purification waters sprinkled on the third and seventh days. The Rambam opines that this halacha is unique to a nazir and that anyone who is rendered unclean for seven days because of utensils must be sprinkled on the third and seventh days; this will be discussed IY”H when we reach Hilchos Tumas Meis. The Rambam likewise opines that the reason a nazir isn’t sprinkled on the third and seventh days for touching such utensils is so that the days of his impurity should be counted as part of his nezirus.
Hilchos Nezirus 7:9
If a nazir contracts tzaraas (colloquially, but not literally, “leprosy”) and is declared unclean, all the days of his seclusion and the seven days that he counts after purifying his tzaraas between the first and second shavings don’t count towards his nezirus. The days of his quarantine, however, do count towards his nezirus. Similarly, if a man or a woman experiences the genital discharge of a zav or a zavah, all the days of their zivah count towards their nezirus even though they’re unclean. This law was transmitted to Moshe at Sinai.
