2,910. Corpse Impurity That Doesn't Void a Nazir's Days
Hilchos Nezirus 7:6
If a nazir touches or carries a corpse’s bone, even one the size of a barleycorn, he must shave and bring the impurity offerings, plus all his completed nezirus days are voided. A bone the size of a barleycorn doesn’t transmit uncleanliness when he’s under the same canopy with it. If a nazir is rendered unclean through contact with one of the following things, his completed nezirus days aren’t voided: a clod of dirt from outside of Israel, or from a field in which a grave was plowed – both of these transmit impurity through touching and carrying; branches that extend from trees, the protuberances extending from fences or from a bed, a camel, etc. that overhang both the nazir and one of the 12 aforementioned types of impurity; being rendered unclean by being under the same canopy as a quarter-kav of bones that don’t comprise the major number of the deceased’s bones, nor the greater part of his skeleton; being rendered unclean through a revi’is of blood from a corpse, which transmits impurity through touching, carrying and being under the same canopy; being rendered unclean by touching or being under the same canopy as a headstone or a footstone, which transmit impurity in these ways; being rendered unclean by the limb of a living person or the limb of a corpse that doesn’t have the requisite volume of flesh on it.
Hilchos Nezirus 7:7
In all the above cases, a nazir is unclean for seven days and must have the purification waters sprinkled on him on the third and seventh days, but he doesn’t shave for impurity or bring the impurity offerings. He doesn’t lose the days of nezirus he’s already observed but the days he spent unclean don’t count towards his nezirus.
