Chapter 8
(א) וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃ (ב) דַּבֵּר֙ אֶֽל־אַהֲרֹ֔ן וְאָמַרְתָּ֖ אֵלָ֑יו בְּהַעֲלֹֽתְךָ֙ אֶת־הַנֵּרֹ֔ת אֶל־מוּל֙ פְּנֵ֣י הַמְּנוֹרָ֔ה יָאִ֖ירוּ שִׁבְעַ֥ת הַנֵּרֽוֹת׃ (ג) וַיַּ֤עַשׂ כֵּן֙ אַהֲרֹ֔ן אֶל־מוּל֙ פְּנֵ֣י הַמְּנוֹרָ֔ה הֶעֱלָ֖ה נֵרֹתֶ֑יהָ כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶת־מֹשֶֽׁה׃ (ד) וְזֶ֨ה מַעֲשֵׂ֤ה הַמְּנֹרָה֙ מִקְשָׁ֣ה זָהָ֔ב עַד־יְרֵכָ֥הּ עַד־פִּרְחָ֖הּ מִקְשָׁ֣ה הִ֑וא כַּמַּרְאֶ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר הֶרְאָ֤ה יְהֹוָה֙ אֶת־מֹשֶׁ֔ה כֵּ֥ן עָשָׂ֖ה אֶת־הַמְּנֹרָֽה׃ {פ}
(א) וּמַלִּיל יְיָ עִם משֶׁה לְמֵימָר: (ב) מַלֵּל עִם אַהֲרֹן וְתֵימַר לֵיהּ בְּאַדְלָקוּתָךְ יָת בּוֹצִינַיָּא לָקֳבֵל אַפֵּי מְנַרְתָּא יְהוֹן מְנַהֲרִין שִׁבְעָא בוֹצִינַיָּא: (ג) וַעֲבַד כֵּן אַהֲרֹן לָקֳבֵל אַפֵּי מְנַרְתָּא אַדְלֵק בּוֹצִינָהָא כְּמָא דִּי פַקִּיד יְיָ יָת משֶׁה: (ד) וְדֵין עוֹבַד מְנַרְתָּא נְגִידָא דְהַב עַד שִׁידַהּ עַד שׁוֹשַׁנַּהּ נְגִידָא הִיא כְּחֶזְוָא דִּי אַחֲזֵי יְיָ יָת משֶׁה כֵּן עֲבַד יָת מְנַרְתָּא:
1. Hashem spoke with Moshe, saying: 2. Speak with Aharon and say to him, “When you light the lamps, the seven lamps shall illuminate facing the front of the Menorah.” 3. Aharon did so; facing the front of the Menorah, he lit its lamps as Hashem had commanded Moshe. 4. And this was the work of the Menorah: it was drawn[1] (out) of gold, from[2] its box[3] to its petal it was drawn. According to the pattern that Hashem showed Moshe, so was the Menorah made.
(ה) וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃ (ו) קַ֚ח אֶת־הַלְוִיִּ֔ם מִתּ֖וֹךְ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְטִהַרְתָּ֖ אֹתָֽם׃ (ז) וְכֹֽה־תַעֲשֶׂ֤ה לָהֶם֙ לְטַֽהֲרָ֔ם הַזֵּ֥ה עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם מֵ֣י חַטָּ֑את וְהֶעֱבִ֤ירוּ תַ֙עַר֙ עַל־כׇּל־בְּשָׂרָ֔ם וְכִבְּס֥וּ בִגְדֵיהֶ֖ם וְהִטֶּהָֽרוּ׃ (ח) וְלָֽקְחוּ֙ פַּ֣ר בֶּן־בָּקָ֔ר וּמִ֨נְחָת֔וֹ סֹ֖לֶת בְּלוּלָ֣ה בַשָּׁ֑מֶן וּפַר־שֵׁנִ֥י בֶן־בָּקָ֖ר תִּקַּ֥ח לְחַטָּֽאת׃ (ט) וְהִקְרַבְתָּ֙ אֶת־הַלְוִיִּ֔ם לִפְנֵ֖י אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד וְהִ֨קְהַלְתָּ֔ אֶֽת־כׇּל־עֲדַ֖ת בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ (י) וְהִקְרַבְתָּ֥ אֶת־הַלְוִיִּ֖ם לִפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה וְסָמְכ֧וּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל אֶת־יְדֵיהֶ֖ם עַל־הַלְוִיִּֽם׃ (יא) וְהֵנִיף֩ אַהֲרֹ֨ן אֶת־הַלְוִיִּ֤ם תְּנוּפָה֙ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה מֵאֵ֖ת בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְהָי֕וּ לַעֲבֹ֖ד אֶת־עֲבֹדַ֥ת יְהֹוָֽה׃ (יב) וְהַלְוִיִּם֙ יִסְמְכ֣וּ אֶת־יְדֵיהֶ֔ם עַ֖ל רֹ֣אשׁ הַפָּרִ֑ים וַ֠עֲשֵׂ֠ה אֶת־הָאֶחָ֨ד חַטָּ֜את וְאֶת־הָאֶחָ֤ד עֹלָה֙ לַֽיהֹוָ֔ה לְכַפֵּ֖ר עַל־הַלְוִיִּֽם׃ (יג) וְהַֽעֲמַדְתָּ֙ אֶת־הַלְוִיִּ֔ם לִפְנֵ֥י אַהֲרֹ֖ן וְלִפְנֵ֣י בָנָ֑יו וְהֵנַפְתָּ֥ אֹתָ֛ם תְּנוּפָ֖ה לַֽיהֹוָֽה׃ (יד) וְהִבְדַּלְתָּ֙ אֶת־הַלְוִיִּ֔ם מִתּ֖וֹךְ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְהָ֥יוּ לִ֖י הַלְוִיִּֽם׃
(ה) וּמַלִּיל יְיָ עִם משֶׁה לְמֵימָר: (ו) קָרֵב יָת לֵוָאֵי מִגּוֹ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וּתְדַּכֵּי יָתְהוֹן: (ז) וּכְדֵין תַּעְבֵּד לְהוֹן לְדַכּוֹאֵיהוֹן אַדֵּי עֲלֵיהוֹן מַיָּא דְחַטָּאתָא וְיַעְבְּרוּן מַסְפַּר עַל כָּל בִּשְׂרְהוֹן וִיחַוְּרוּן לְבוּשֵׁיהוֹן וְיִדְּכּוּן: (ח) וִיסְבוּן תּוֹר בַּר תּוֹרֵי וּמִנְחָתֵיהּ סֻלְתָּא דְּפִילָא בִמְשָׁח וְתוֹר תִּנְיַן בַּר תּוֹרֵי תִּסַּב לְחַטָּאתָא: (ט) וּתְקָרֵב יָת לֵוָאֵי קֳדָם מַשְׁכַּן זִמְנָא וְתִכְנֵשׁ יָת כָּל כְּנִשְׁתָּא דִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל: (י) וּתְקָרֵב יָת לֵוָאֵי קֳדָם יְיָ וְיִסְמְכוּן בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל יָת יְדֵיהוֹן עַל לֵוָאֵי: (יא) וִירִים אַהֲרֹן יָת לֵוָאֵי אֲרָמָא קֳדָם יְיָ מִן בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וִיהוֹן לְמִפְלַח יָת פָּלְחָנָא דַיְיָ: (יב) וְלֵוָאֵי יִסְמְכוּן יָת יְדֵיהוֹן עַל רֵישׁ תּוֹרַיָּא וְיַעֲבֵּד יָת חַד חַטָּאתָא וְיָת חַד עֲלָתָא קֳדָם יְיָ לְכַפָּרָא עַל לֵוָאֵי: (יג) וּתְקֵם יָת לֵוָאֵי קֳדָם אַהֲרֹן וְקָדָם בְּנוֹהִי וּתְרֵם יָתְהוֹן אֲרָמָא קֳדָם יְיָ: (יד) וְתַפְרֵשׁ יָת לֵוָאֵי מִגּוֹ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וִיהוֹן מְשַׁמְּשִׁין קֳדָמַי לֵוָאֵי:
5. Hashem spoke with Moshe, saying: 6. Bring the Levites near[4] from among the children of Israel and purify them. 7. And so shall you do to them to purify them: sprinkle on them water of purification and they shall pass a razor over all their flesh, and wash[5] their clothes, and they will be purified. 8. They shall take a young bull and its flour offering of fine flour mixed with oil, and you shall take a second young bull as a sin offering. 9. You shall bring the Levites near before the Tent of Meeting. Gather the entire congregation of the children of Israel. 10. Bring the Levites near before Hashem. The children of Israel shall lay their hands on the Levites, 11. Aharon shall elevate[6] the Levites as an elevation before Hashem from the children of Israel and they will be to perform the service of Hashem. 12. The Levites shall lay their hands on the heads of the bulls; he[7] shall make the one as a sin offering and the other[8] as a burnt offering to Hashem to atone for[9] the Levites. 13. You shall stand the Levites before Aharon and before his sons, and elevate them as an elevation before Hashem.[10] 14. You shall separate the Levites from among the children of Israel, and the Levites will minister before Me.[11]
