2,838. Affirming a Vow

Hilchos Nedarim 13:3

A man affirms his wife or daughter’s vow by saying, “I uphold your vow,” “You have vowed well,” “There’s no one like you,” “If you hadn’t vowed, I would have imposed such a vow on you,” or any similar words that suggest that he’s pleased with the vow.

Hilchos Nedarim 13:4

If a man voids his wife or daughter’s vows, he need not say anything and her vows are voided.
