2,799. Vowing Against Grains

Hilchos Nedarim 9:8

One who vows not to eat fish may still eat brine and dips made with fish oil. One who vows not to eat milk may still eat whey; if he vows not to eat whey, he may still eat milk. If he vows not to eat cheese, he is prohibited both salted and unsalted cheese.

Hilchos Nedarim 9:9

One who vows not to eat grains of wheat is also prohibited to eat wheat kernels, both fresh and cooked. If he vows not to eat wheat and grains of wheat, he is also prohibited to eat flour and bread. If he vows not to taste wheat, he may not eat baked goods but he may chew wheat kernels. If he vows not to eat grains of wheat, he may eat baked goods but he may not chew wheat kernels. If he vows not to taste wheat or grains of wheat, he may not eat baked goods or chew wheat kernels. If he vows not to eat grain, he is only prohibited the five species (wheat, barley, rye, oats and spelt).
