2,768. Vow-Prohibited Wine Mixed With Permitted Wine
Hilchos Nedarim 5:11
Counter to the previous halacha, if a person prohibited himself “this meat” or “this wine,” then if the vegetables absorbed the taste of the meat or the wine, they are prohibited. If such is not the case, then they are permitted. The reason is because this meat or wine is considered like the meat of neveila (carrion), swarming things, etc. The same is true in all comparable cases. Therefore, if a person says, “This meat is prohibited to me,” he may not eat it, its sauce or its spices.
Hilchos Nedarim 5:12
If the wine that a person prohibited to himself got mixed with other wine – even a single drop in a whole barrel – the whole thing is prohibited. Since one has the option to have his vow released, it is considered something that can be permitted and therefore is never nullified in its own type, as was discussed in Hilchos Maachalos Assuros.
