2,767. Permitted Food Mixed With Prohibited Food

Hilchos Nedarim 5:9

If someone was prohibited by a vow or an oath not to eat a certain type of food, he may still eat other types of food that were cooked or mixed with that food; this is so even if the permitted food has absorbed the taste of the prohibited food. Let’s say that someone was prohibited from eating specific produce. If that produce got mixed with other produce, then it is prohibited if it has the taste of the prohibited produce. If such is not the case, then it is permitted.

Hilchos Nedarim 5:10

Pursuant to the previous halacha, someone who is prohibited to eat meat or wine may eat soup or vegetables that were cooked with meat or wine even if they have the taste of meat or wine. He is only prohibited to eat meat or drink wine by itself.
