2,697. Multiple Claims and Multiple Plaintiffs

Hilchos Shevuos 9:16

Let’s say that the plaintiff imposes an oath on the witnesses that they come testify that person X has wheat, barley and groats belonging to the plaintiff. The witnesses respond with an oath that they don’t have any relevant information. In such a case, they’re only liable to bring one offering. However, if they respond with an oath that don’t have any information about wheat, barley and groats of the plaintiff’s, then they’re obligated to bring an offering for each one.

Hilchos Shevuos 9:17

Similarly, if multiple people imposed an oath on the witnesses that they testify and the witnesses respond with an oath that they don’t have any relevant information, then they’re only liable to bring one offering. However, if they respond with an oath that don’t have any information about plaintiff X, about plaintiff Y and about plaintiff Z, then they're liable for each one, as was previously discussed regarding an oath of deposit.
