2,358. Cooking a Neveila in Milk
Maachalos Assuros 9:6
If milk and meat are smoked together, cooked in the Tiberias hot springs, etc., one isn’t liable to lashes. Similarly, if meat is cooked in whey, in milk from an animal that died or from a male, or if blood is cooked with milk, one is exempt and is not liable for eating milk and meat because of it. However, if a person cooks the meat of an animal that died, forbidden fats, etc. in milk, he is liable to lashes for cooking them, though he isn’t liable to lashes for meat and milk if he eats these because the prohibition against meat and milk doesn’t apply to things prohibited as neveila or forbidden fats. This is because it’s not a broader prohibition, a prohibition that adds something new or multiple prohibitions that take effect simultaneously.
Maachalos Assuros 9:7
One is liable for cooking a fetus in milk, or for eating it. However, if one cooks the placenta, skin, sinews, bones, horns or hooves in milk, he is not liable, nor is one liable for eating it.
