To Gain and to Give: Hilchot Tzedakah, Day 4

The mitzvah of tzedakah is to provide a fellow Jew with whatever they are personally lacking. As such, a poor person who was previously wealthy and accustomed to a high standard of living, should be given sufficient funds to maintain their original standard of living.
