1,902. Removing the Shoe Improperly
Yibum v’Chalitzah 4:21
If the yevama rips the shoe off of the yavam’s foot, or if she burns it, the chalitzah is invalid. The same is true if the yavam is wearing two shoes (on the same foot) and the yevama only removes the top shoe. The chalitzah is invalid even if she rips off the bottom shoe so that his foot is exposed.
Yibum v’Chalitzah 4:22
If the yevama ate garlic, mustard or other things that cause a person to salivate and the saliva dripped from her mouth, it is insignificant. She must spit without the saliva being generated by some outside factor.
