If someone heard the non-Jewish authorities say that they executed person X, it’s not admissible. This is because the authorities will lie to strengthen their position and to create fear. The same is true in all comparable cases.

Hilchos Geirushin 13:14

If a non-Jew initially made statements in the course of normal conversation but he was subsequently questioned until he revealed all the details, his statements are admissible and they are used to permit the woman to remarry.
