1,848. "He was Killed by Robbers."
Hilchos Geirushin 13:5
If a woman claims that the enemy filled their house or cave with smoke so that her husband died but she survived, she is not taken at her word because, just as she survived against the odds, he might also have survived. If it was a time of famine and she says that her husband died, her word is not accepted; if she says that he died and she buried him, then her word is accepted.
Hilchos Geirushin 13:6
If a woman claims that they were attacked by non-Jews or bandits so that he was killed but she survived, she is taken at her word. This is because it’s less common for attackers to kill women. Therefore, we don’t say in this case that just as she beat the odds, he might also have done so.
