If we don’t know of a war raging elsewhere in the world and a woman says that there was a war in a certain country and her husband died in that war, she shouldn’t remarry but if she does, she need not leave the second man.

The same is true if a woman claims that her husband died in a landslide, i.e., her word is not accepted. Similarly, if a location was infested with swarms of snakes or scorpions and she claims that her husband was bitten by one of these and died, we do not take her at her word. This is because she might rely on the fact that most people die after having been bitten (though such is not necessarily the case).
