1,757. An Unsuccessful Cancellation

If a man was looking to appoint an agent to cancel a get, or if he was looking for two people so that he could cancel the get in front of them, but while he was looking the get reached his wife and he only canceled it after, the validity of the get is not affected. This is so even though he was trying to cancel the get before it was delivered.

Hilchos Geirushin 6:18

If a man told ten others to write a get and deliver it to his wife, he can cancel it in front of any one of them even though the others are not present. He can likewise cancel the get in front of two other people. If he sent the get via two agents, he can cancel one of the agents even though the other isn’t present. Even if there are ten agents, if he cancels their assignment in front of one of them, the get is invalidated.
