1,731. The Language and Alphabet in a Get

Hilchos Geirushin 4:8

If one witness signed a get using one alphabet and the other witness signed using a different alphabet, the get is valid. However, if part of a get is written in one language and another part is written in a different language, it is invalid.

Hilchos Geirushin 4:9

Regardless of what language is used to write a get, the scribe must be careful to use unambiguous wording so that readers aren’t left wondering if the intention of the document is to effect divorce or perhaps something else. A get must clearly state one thing, namely that this man divorces this woman.
