323. Not Stunning an Animal for Slaughter
46:23 It is completely prohibited to stun an animal or bird before ritually slaughtering it for food. In fact, if an animal falls, we may not slaughter it until after it “shakes it off” and we see it walk four cubits properly on its own.
46:24 In the summer, it is common to find small, wart-like welts in the intestines of wild ducks. Many of them become non-kosher because of this so they must be well-checked. If such welts are found, an authority must be consulted.
