431. Buying and Selling

62:2 Just as one is forbidden to take advantage of another person in buying and selling, one may likewise not take advantage of another when hiring, contracting, or changing money.

62:3 A person who buys and sells honestly does not have to worry that he may come to cheat others. For example, a seller tells a potential buyer that he bought a certain item at a particular price and that he wants to make a certain profit on it. Even if he was cheated when he bought the item - and one who has been cheated is not permitted to cheat others in order to offset his loss - nevertheless this is permitted because the buyer is being informed that the sale price is based on what the seller paid for the item rather than on the item's inherent worth.
