542. The Brachos on the Haftarah

79:3 In the bracha before the haftarah, “Amen” is not said after the words “hane’emarim b’emes.” The end of the bracha is the word “vatzedek.” Similarly, in the first of the brachos after the haftarah, “Amen” is not said after “emes vatzedek” because “ne’eman Atah” is a continuation of the same bracha. Because some people err and do respond “Amen” in these places, it is appropriate that the one reciting the brachos not pause there. In this way, no one will mistakenly treat those pauses as the end of a bracha.

79:4 It is forbidden to talk while the haftarah is being read.
