The Mystery of Why Daily Birchas Kohanim Disappeared in the Diaspora
The general custom among Ashkenazim is not to duchen daily outside Eretz Yisrael. This minhag is at least 700 years old. What is the source for this minhag? Why doesn't an avel duchen - avelim are obligated in all mitzvot!
How can a Kohen not duchen daily - a kohen who doesn't duchen violates three מצוות לא תעשה!
Why do the kohanim say באהבה in the bracha before birchat kohanim - why does duchening have to be done with love more so than any other mitzvah?
