Things That Affect Your Memory
One transgresses the prohibition of forgetting Torah if he/she actively does something things that causes one to forget.
Horayos 13b lists five things that cause one to forget one's learning and five things which cause one to remember one's learning.
If one would learn as if one was standing at Matan Torah one wold never forget what he learned.
If the Torah was given on the 7th of Sivan why do we call Shavuot זמן מתן תורתינו - the Torah wasn't given on the 50th day after Yetziat Mitzrayim, it was given on the 51st day!
Seforno: Why isn't Shavuot called עצרת in the Torah - it commemorates when Bnei Yisrael gathered together to receive the Torah? Because that event was negated due to Chet HaEgel!
