679. Eating and Sleeping in Different Places
94:12 An eiruv may not be made on yom tov, so if a yom tov falls on a Friday, the eiruv must be made before yom tov. 94:13 If a person eats in one place and sleeps in another, the place where he eats is the main thing for the purpose of making an eiruv. He would impede the other residents from being able to carry in the common courtyard if he ate his own food there in a designated room, while the place where he sleeps would not impede the others. ("Ate his own food" is as opposed to brothers who eat at their father's table and then go to their own houses to sleep; these would not impede the residents of the courtyard - OC 370:5.)
