713. Building a Fire on Yom Tov
98:5 We may not arrange the wood on stones in order to light a fire because it's like making a tent in that it’s two sides with a roof over them. We must therefore do this it in an unusual manner, such as by holding the wood in one’s hand and putting the stones under them. Similarly, when one places the pot on the stones to light the fire under it, he must hold the pot in his hand and put the stones under it, not put the pot down on top of the stones.
98:6 We may not fan a fire using bellows so that we do not do work in the same manner as a craftsman. The practice is to allow the use of household bellows with a change, like turning them upside down. Craftmen's bellows, however, may not be used even with a change.
