The Broken Mishkan

The entire essence of Pekudei is the accounting of the Mishkan. The Mishkan mentioned twice in the opening pasuk - אלה פקודי המשכן משכן העדות. When Balaam blesses Bnei Yisrael he also refers to משכנותיך, in the plural. The repetition represents the mishkan when it is built and when it is destroyed. This alludes to the Mishkan/Mikdash in its built and deconstructed/destroyed state. Even when the Mishkan was taken apart and in pieces, it still remained the Mishkan. Even when the Beit HaMikdash is destroyed it still protects us.

What follows from this is that even when the Mikdash is destroyed we still have the ability to connect to it. Rebbe Nachman explains how.
