1,352. If the Moon on the Equator

In order to determine the direction to which the moon will appear inclined, calculate its distance from the equator. If it is on the equator, or within two or three degrees north or south of the equator, then the moon will appear due west and its crescent will appear to point due east.

If the moon is inclined north of the equator, it will appear in the northwest and its crescent will appear to point southeast.
