Finding Your Mishkan

After Chet HaEgel Moshe advocates for Bnei Yisrael by saying "G-d, why should You get upset"? Hashem is upset because they sinned!

"שחורה אני ונאוה": Chet HaEgel fundamentally changed Bnei Yisrael. Nevertheless, Moshe said., they are still beautiful because of the good they do (here, the Mishkan). Moshe's greatness was the ability to find the good, even when things were at their bleakest. This is why Moshe said Hashem shouldn't be angry with them - they have good in them!

Moshe teaches us that no matter how profound our failure, there is still holiness in us, there is still a Mishkan inside us. We cannot define ourselves - and others! - by our failures.
