1,319. Calculating the Head's Position - part 2

Hilchos Kiddush HaChodesh 16:5

(Continued from halacha 16:4.) Calculate the average of the head in the usual manner, adding the distance traveled in 29 days to the starting point. Therefore, the average of the head is 182 degrees, 29 minutes, 37 seconds (182, 29, 37). Subtract this from 360, which leaves 177 degrees, 30 minutes, 23 seconds (177, 30, 23). This is the location of the head. Seconds make no difference, so the head will be 27 degrees, 30 minutes in Virgo, with the tail opposite it at 27 degrees, 30 minutes in Pisces.

Hilchos Kiddush HaChodesh 16:6

Exactly half of the heavenly sphere will always fall between the head and the tail. Therefore, whenever the head is in one constellation, the tail will be seven constellations ahead, at the same number of degrees and minutes. For example, if the head is at 10 degrees in constellation X, the tail will be at 10 degrees seven constellations later.
