Rav Yitzchak Hutner in the Pachad Yitzchak:
Moshe is the first one to fulfill סיפור יציאת מצרים when he related to Yitro what occurred. When Yitro gives Moshe advice about how to lighten his load Yitro saying "והורתם את הדרך ילכו בה" (that Moshe should teach them the proper path") seems out of place.
