A Story of 85 Falafels: Hakarat Hatov

Hakarat Hatov (gratitude) is a fundamental of Judaism. In Parshat Shemot two non-Jews play pivotal roles - Pharaoh and Yitro, polar opposites. Pharaoh turns on the family of the person (Yosef) who saved Egypt. Yitro, on the other hand reacts to the kindness of Moshe (when he saved Yitro's daughters) by inviting him into his house.

For 2000 years we have been praying for Yeshiva students (Kaddish D'Rabbanan). It behooves all of us to do the same for our soldiers, those who put their lives on the line to defend the Jewish people.
