The status of an awning (e.g. outside of a store) vis-a-vis carrying on Shabbos.

The Torah prohibition of carrying is picking an item up (עקירה) in reshut harabim and placing it (הנחה) in reshut hayachid or vice versa. Throwing and wearing are included in carrying.

If a person only did half the act (עקירה or הנחה).

עקירה includes if one has something in their hand.
