The Flow of Inspiration
Everything that happened to Elisha happened to Eliyahu. Elisha's power comes from Eliyahu and Yitzchak's prayers are answered because he is the son of Avraham and Sarah. The Haftarah, like the Parsha, speaks about an elderly couple who have a child.
Why didn't Hashem communicate with Avraham after the Akeida? As soon as Sarah passes Avraham and Sarah are replaced which is why the next order of business is to find a wife for Yitzchak who replaces Sarah as Rashi indicates. The Ramban says that when Rivka came, the shechina returned. In this tent there was a fire that lasted all week, bread that stayed all week, and the cloud above the tent. This parallels the Beit HaMikdash, it's destruction, and rebuilding. The same applies to the Shunamite woman and Elisha.
