2 Kings 4:1
וְאִשָּׁה אַחַת מִנְּשֵׁי בְנֵי הַנְּבִיאִים צָעֲקָה אֶל אֱלִישָׁע לֵאמֹר עַבְדְּךָ אִישִׁי מֵת וְאַתָּה יָדַעְתָּ כִּי עַבְדְּךָ הָיָה יָרֵא אֶת ה' וְהַנֹּשֶׁה בָּא לָקַחַת אֶת שְׁנֵי יְלָדַי לוֹ לַעֲבָדִים
A certain woman – one of the wives of the students of the prophets – cried to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead. You know that your servant was a G-d-fearing person. A creditor is come to take my two children to be servants to him.”
Who was this woman’s husband? Rashi quotes the Midrash that he was the prophet Ovadya (Obadiah). Ovadya first came to our attention as the servant of King Ahab in I Kings chapter 18. He hid 100 prophets from the king’s wrath and supported them at his own expense. His prophecy is recorded in the book that bears his name which, at one chapter long, is the shortest book in Tanach.
